Randolph, the titular character
"Randolph with your nose so bright, won't you guard this room tonight?"...
GLaDOS

Randolph the Red-Nosed Turret is a comic that was released during the 2011 Valve Store Holiday Sale. It is a parody of the 1939 booklet, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, written by Robert L. May.

Plot summary

Randolph, a Turret who has a red nose and antler headband, is made fun of by the other Turrets, who refuse to let him "join in any turret games". The following non-denominational holiday, GLaDOS speaks with Randolph and tasks him with guarding a room. The comic ends with several Turrets praising Randolph on his accomplished mission.

Trivia

  • On both pages 1 and 2, the illustrations show turrets using their lasers to burn a victim (a bird and a test subject, presumably Chell, respectively). Throughout the Portal series, the only use of this laser was to focus on the turrets' target, so it is unconfirmed if Sentry Turrets are also able to emit a high-powered laser with the ability to singe their target.
  • On page 3, the stockings have the names of Gordon, Alyx, and Dog from the Half-Life series.
  • Also on page 3, there is a picture above the stockings which appears to show the cornfield from the end of Portal 2.
  • On page 4 in the background, the room is scorched with what looks like, a dead santa
