GLaDOS in Portal 2

GLaDOS, known in full as the Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, is the computer system designed to control and oversee Aperture Laboratories, as well as the guide of the Aperture Science computer-aided Enrichment Center. She has the ability to shift and move the facilities and the chambers, making for seamless testing design.

GLaDOS is the main antagonist throughout Portal, and through the first half of Portal 2's single-player campaign. Throughout both games, GLaDOS continuously tests Chell to the point of killing her under the guise of 'science'. As the story progresses, she and the player are exposed to Cave Johnson's rantings, during his final days, pointing out that GLaDOS may be Caroline, Johnson's right-hand woman, in an attempt to merge man and machine, as well as attempting to cure Johnson of mercury poisoning.
