The Walking Turret, also known as the Moving or Mobile Turret, is a Sentry Turret variant cut from Portal.
Overview
- The Walking Turret was first revealed to the public through concept art during PotatoFoolsDay ARG in 2011. Valve animator Karen Prell elaborated during Animex 2012.
- The Walking Turret was discarded in place of a static, single-directional Sentry Turret
- The Walking Turret was capable of a ball pose, presumably to fling itself or be flung. This position could possibly have been its idle pose, activated by the player's presence and proximity.
- The Walking Turret's Personality Construct design was kept, and can be seen in the Rocket Turret design.
