Portal is Free is a video which was released by Valve on May 13, 2010 in order to promote Portal 2. The video takes the form of an Aperture Laboratories information video, which advertises the existence of a "free Portal kit" (the original Portal). The purpose of the video was to bring attention to the fact that Portal was made available on Steam for a brief period, in order to promote the future release of Portal 2.
