The Hover Turret (also referred to as the Laser Turret) is an unused turret from Portal 2. The turret is still fully functional, although its AI glitches sometimes, and it looks like the Curiosity core.
Functionality
The turret emits a laser; when the laser becomes deadly it hurts any player that it touches in a manner similar to a Thermal Discouragement Beam. It takes some time for the turret to be charged again for the laser to become deadly again. If it hits any wall or floor it explodes.
