The Bird, also known as the Crow, is a miscellaneous character throughout many Valve titles and parent of Mr. Chubby Beak and other two unnamed chicks.
The Bird plays a minor role during the single player campaign, after Wheatley's takeover of Aperture Science, and returns later during the additional cooperative testing course, Art Therapy as the main antagonist.

Wheatley makes an appearance behind a glass only to be harassed by the Bird for doing something to her eggs as an attempt to put himself on the rail again.
Portal 2 Chapter 6 Reconciliation
Some time into the game's singleplayer campaign, protagonist Chell and tritagonist GLaDOS become separated from each other. Then, the Bird takes GLaDOS in a form of a potato, the Bird abducts the AI and takes her to it's nest. However, this plan is foiled by the efforts of Chell, who rescues GLaDOS by shooing the bird.
Cooperative Testing Initiative
The Bird, after the events of Portal 2, somehow finds, activates, and uses a prototype chassis of the central core. GLaDOS, now in full control of the facility, dispatches the robots Atlas and P-Body to kill the Bird. The robots stumble across the Bird's nest, placed above the central core's keyboard, and as GLaDOS observes it, she panics and yells at them to abort their mission. Startled, the Bird is forced to flee it's home. P-body then closes the hatch that the Bird flew out from, making it impossible for it to return. After the real mother was gone, GLaDOS nurtures them on her own in the Central AI Chamber, showing sign of simpathy and maternity.
Other games
The bird also appears in Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, but it plays even smaller role there.
Abilities and traits
The Bird is capable of but not limited to, asexual reproduction, ability to manipulate a keyboard and, ability to harass personality constructs.
