Reorganizing Wheatley's voice lines
Is seems a few users have started on the work of organizing this page into sections. To save future duplicated effort from multiple people unknowingly redoing the same work separately in their own drafts, (as I started doing,) let's consolidate. It seems Traen's page has the most significant progress; therefore, I'd recommend going to that page if you want to help organize Wheatley's voice lines, which will eventually go live here once the draft is ready. —Cartoonmaster 04:06, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
The Mystery of Wheatley's Spanish
[1] As you know, in the English dub, he says something in Spanish when he takes control of Aperture. Well, in the Spanish dub, he says it in English. "It appears you are using this translation incorrectly. Please check the manual." Make use of this info somehow; we missed a joke. Sven 06:54, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- In the English dub, what he says in Spanish ("Estás usando este software de traducción de forma incorrecta. Por favor, consulta el manual.") does mean the same thing ("You are using this translation software incorrectly. Please check the manual."). I suppose an inline translation could be helpful. Noted.
- Is this what you mean? (As opposed to suggesting there should be a trivia point relating to the fact that they used English for the translation software line in the Spanish dub.) —Cartoonmaster 04:06, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- The inline translation would be better, I suppose. I personally had no idea what he said in Spanish (despite taking and passing two Spanish courses), but after learning what it meant, it made the scene much funnier. I personally found it interesting, so perhaps others might? Sven 04:26, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- The official translation (in the Spanish dub) is supposed to be "It seems that you are using this translation tool incorrectly. Please check the manual." Read this within the game files. See? I'm not a moron either. Edgar Searle (talk) 00:43, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Typo: “electic pop”
I found a typo that says “electic pop”, as said in the title. The whole reason I created an account in the first place is to fix this typo. However, there’s basically no obvious way to edit voice-line captions (the text with a “Download” and “Play” button to the right of it). The voice line captions in question says “Oh! Good news! [electic pop] Nevermind.” It should say “Oh! Good news! [electric pop] Nevermind.” instead. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by MCAlexisYT (talk) • (contribs) 04:17, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Good find. These voice lines are stored within the Template:Voice line template, which in turn uses the Template:Dictionary template, which invokes a subpage of said template deep into Wheatley's voice line in Template:Dictionary/voice lines/Wheatley and thus requires one to dig into some directories to edit the line. I've gone ahead and fixed the typo. ~ Headquarter8302 04:17, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
One of Wheatley's voicelines plays one of Rick's voice lines instead (update: Not a site issue, ignore this)
I think I had actually noticed this last year, but I forgot which voiceline was incorrect, and looking through ALL of them to find it again is kinda insane. Today though, I luckily found it again. The voice line where he goes "Oh! Oh oh! Yes. Alright. Just had a brainwave. I'll be back. If you're still alive. I'll be back. Don't die until I get back." Is instead replaced by Rick saying "Don't forget! THORN. SIDE."
I logged in back into my account to fix that, but it doesn't seem to be as simple as I thought. The file name for the correct voice line is bw_a4_finale02_pipe_collapse04
On the Wheatley voicelines page, it's meant to be on the "turret room" section of the voicelines.
I am considering learning how to fix it myself, but it'd be nice either way for someone else to see this and replace the voiceline.
Edit: I gave up on trying to fix it. I found the page where the audio seems to be uploaded- File:Wheatley bw a4 finale02 pipe collapse04.wav - But when I tried to put the correct audio in it, I got a warning about it being the "exact same file" (which, like mentioned before, it ISN'T the same file, it just uses the same file name but the audio is not correct,) and it didn't allow me to fix it.

- Are you sure this is the one? I'm hearing the correct audio on my side. — Tark 23:24, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Every time I open this voiceline, at least on mobile, it plays Rick's voice line instead. I have no idea why that's happening on my end. I even opened it again after reading the reply, just in case I got it confused... and it still plays the "Thorn" voiceline. I don't know if anyone else also had that happen to them, this is kinda funny in an odd way. If no one else has this issue and it's just a client(?) thing, then I guess this can be ignored. Sorry if this wasted anyone's time 😅
- Update from the next day: It seems like a client issue that only happens on my phone. I played the voiceline from my computer this time, and it played the correct sound. I took a family member's phone to play the voiceline just to be sure if it wasn't a mobile issue, and it also played the correct line. I still have no clue why this happens to me though, but the problem is just on MY end and not on the site itself. Apologies for the disturbance and thanks for the patience. - It's fine! No need to apologize. It's quite rare for people to even bother to report issues, so it could definitely be an issue on our side as well.
- I wonder if the browser cache on your phone got corrupted somehow. Have you tried fully clearing it and playing the audio again? What happens if you reproduce Rick's voice line instead, does it play Wheatley's? — Tark 03:04, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- CLEANING THE CACHE WORKED!! THANKS :D
- It really was just a cache issue, lol. I cleared it, clicked on the affected voiceline and now the correct one plays just fine. Can't believe it was such a simple issue. I also tested your suggested idea (before cleaning the cache) of playing Rick's line and it wasn't affected at all, which is a little boring (it'd be funny if it got switched to Wheatley's voice line). For some reason it only affected a single voice line on a single page. Once again, it's working correctly now, so thanks!!! CrystalzZ (talk) 21:22, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
