The Portal series is heavily story-based, as such any information regarding the story may be damaging to the experience of new players or players of whom have not completed the game. To reduce the exposure of Spoilers to players, there are guidelines and practices we have in regards to spoilers.

The Spoiler template designates a block of text as a spoiler and spoilers marked using this template will be hidden from view if a user turns spoilers of. Whereas this text will not be affected, for it is not marked with the template. This piece of text contains an image: ; which will be censored with the text.
How to use it
Pass the text to be marked as-spoiler as the first parameter of the template. The above example was generated by:

When to use it
This template should be used for every piece of information that contains spoilers. To hide an image, simply define it within the first parameter or have it's caption contain this template.

Discussion pages (including user-talk pages) should have an equal amount of care taken with regards to adding spoilers.
IRC
On the Wiki IRC channel, there is a strict no-spoilers policy. Anybody who posts spoilers in the channel will receive a 24-hour ban. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
