Greg

Originally written to appear during Portal 2, Greg was a scientist and a friend to Aperture CEO Cave Johnson. Though what role Greg may have played is unclear, he was replaced by Caroline before the release of the game. He was not placed into the story line thought he was talked about a couple of times and was talked about the new DLC. Therefore, Greg is an assistant to Cave.

Overview

According to the The Final Hours of Portal 2, one of the reasons Greg was cut was to eliminate the cost of hiring a new voice actor that only played a small role, instead reusing Ellen McLain to voice Caroline. Doing this also provided a background for GLaDOS, due to the usage of same voice actors. Greg was confirmed Caves assistance in the new Portal 2 dlc. Cave had a voice line saying something to Greg and that hes his assistance. DLC: Perpetuation testing Initiative.

Trivia

• In a line cut of Portal 2, Cave Johnson reveals that Greg had fought a bear at some time in the past.
