Rattmann was working at Aperture Science when [[GLaDOS]] flooded the entire facility with deadly neurotoxin, and is the only known employee to have survived the attack. He does not appear in-game in any form, instead leaving behind paintings and murals which can be found throughout the Aperture test chambers in ''[[Portal]]'' and ''[[Portal 2]]''. A paranoid {{W|schizophrenic}}, he is dependant on anti-psychotic medication to keep him sane.
