*The Pit is divided into 11 parts. The player is teleported into each of them when falling. PotatOS and the falling elevator car are actually floating outside of the 11 shafts that make up the map, looping a falling animation.
*More precisely, the player is locked inside a small box to prevent lateral movement, and their viewport is placed inside the shaft(s), and it is this viewpoint that falls/teleports.
**This technique is similar to what is used for the container ride in the [[Portal 2 Chapter 1 Introduction|Introduction]], where the player is in a hidden room for collision, and their viewport is in the relaxation chamber that has a pre-calculated destruction simulated.
