Patch notes edit war

Hi there,

When your edit gets undone, the proper etiquette is to follow BOLD, revert, discuss, meaning if your edit gets reverted you start a discussion (usually on the user's talk page) rather than undoing it again. Undoing it again results in an edit war, which should always be prevented. After discussion with other users I've moved it to the next patch note as a reference instead.GrampaSwood (talk) 20:17, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Alright, sorry. I get a little impatient trying to edit this wiki because of how slow it is these days. (Hopefully that might improve soon, I've noticed WindPower doing what looks like a fair bit of backend maintenance.) I'm still not entirely happy with the current way the information is arranged but I suppose it's better than nothing. - VRadExe (talk) 04:52, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
Yeah, I have been reconfiguring and restarting things within the wiki server all day today, also trying to set up new firewalls and rate limits to keep the bots at bay. Sorry for the mess in the meantime. — Wind 05:05, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Excursion Funnel edit

Hi there,

Do you have a source of some kind that we 'know now' it never used the super button as a placeholder? If this is from recent leaks, please use text references only, and include this in similar edits in the future. GrampaSwood (talk) 09:59, 6 September 2026 (UTC)

Yeah, it's based on the recently leaked builds of the game, where the funnels just use the light bridge emitter model as a placeholder. I guess I should have clarified that in the edit summary. - VRadExe (talk) 20:03, 6 September 2026 (UTC)
Which builds, specifically? GrampaSwood (talk) 21:20, 6 September 2026 (UTC)

Same question for the recent Hover Turret edit, most of the added information has no references or way to verify it. An easy way to do this is simply using reference tags with the depot number, and if there are specific files referenced to also reference the filepath where these can be found along with the depot number. I...don't really get why citations are needed for this. I've definitely never seen any other wiki add citations for info that can be plainly verified through playing prototype builds normally, that seems like it would get really cluttered really fast. Maybe it would be better if there was just a specific page that listed all the builds and what depot ID/version each was under. - VRadExe (talk) 20:32, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
Adding sources is nothing unusual, many game wikis actually fail to provide anything which is often an issue. From what I can see, all the information is from a specific leaked depot so simply using a reference with the depot number would be sufficient for covering the whole article. If I wanted to verify any information on that article I don't know where to start. If all the information comes from a single depot, that could be specified, but 'leaked July 2009 build' doesn't convey much information. Especially if there are any future leaks of anything, it could be too vague. The Team Fortress Wiki does it through mentioning the specific depot (for this leak, anyway), something like 'leaked July 2009 build<ref>depot [number], 2026 Steam teraleak</ref>' (as long as the leak's name is roughly the same across the wiki it can be whatever name) would already cover the exact information that people would need to verify it while remaining short and non-intrusive. If information comes from a different repo, then another reference can be used to specify it. GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 11:38, 26 September 2026 (UTC)
