Gallery adding

Hai there, thanks for adding images all around, but keep in mind that the {{Gallery}} template needs a lines argument to display the correct number of lines of text under an image. On some pages, this number needs to be increased so that the full description underneath the text shows without a scrollbar appearing. Thanks~ — Wind 03:11, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello! ^_^ You're welcome, I was having fun with it. :D Oh! Okay, thanks for that note, I was wondering about the scrollbar thing! ^_^ I'll go back and see if I can fix them!  :) - MewtwoWarrior 03:14, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I think I've got all of them fixed now, yay! :D - MewtwoWarrior 03:20, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
Whee~ Now come here :3 — Wind 03:22, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
Okay! :D I've never used an IRC, so I'll need a bit to figure it out. :D - MewtwoWarrior 03:23, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Screenshots

Please please please please use the config I gave you earlier (it works for Portal 1), and, just as importantly, stop taking your screenshots in JPG format. They look horrible D: — Wind 01:02, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I am so sorry, I didn't know it would work for Portal 1 as well! I don't know how to fix it to not take screenshots in JPG. D: - MewtwoWarrior 01:07, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Just paste into whatever image editor you're using and select Save as PNG instead of Save as JPG >: — Wind 01:08, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
That'll make it look better even if the game took it in JPG format? - MewtwoWarrior 01:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Don't use the in-game screenshot tool, just use Print Screen — Wind 01:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Last time I used Print Screen it made the screenshots look all wonky, I have a widescreen laptop. D: - MewtwoWarrior 01:12, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
If you must, then use the in-game's "screenshot" command which will take .tga screenshots (which are lossless), then convert those to png. — Wind 01:13, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
You also don't have to revert what you've done; you can simply upload a new version of the screenshot if you've made a better version, and all pages using that screenshot will be updated — Wind 01:15, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
*nods* Okay, thanks, I didn't know about that! I'm removing the crappy screenshots from the articles, could you please delete them from the Wiki? - MewtwoWarrior 01:15, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Ah, okay, thanks, but I don't have time right now to take better versions of the screenshots, so it'll probably be better if they're removed until I have a chance to. - MewtwoWarrior 01:17, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
They look bad, but they're better than nothing, so there is no need to remove them~ You can leave them there and simply upload better version of them later. To remind yourself (or anyone) to do so, you can put the {{improveimage}} template on the file page :3
Another thing to note is that nothing can be deleted from a wiki. In the same way that pages have "versions", files have versions too. In the same way that pages can be "deleted" (which only really means "hidden") then "restored" (unhide), images can be "deleted" (hidden) and "restored) (unhidden) as well.
Point is, thanks for taking those screenshots, just make sure to take better ones next time and/or to improve the ones you've already made :3 — Wind 01:21, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Are you sure? The pages look a bit neater without them cluttering things up, at least some of them do. Oh, that's neat, I didn't know about that improveimage thing, cool! :D Ahhh, I see, I thought the files could be removed. D: Sorry for making a mess.  :< Oh, you're welcome, sorry I had all those yucky looking ones. *nod nod* Will do! I have a handful more of the crappy ones, should I go ahead and upload the best ones and just mark them for improvement later or just wait until somebody can get better ones? - MewtwoWarrior 01:29, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Don't upload the rest, just focus on making higher-quality versions of them and of old screenshots (and of new ones as well, if so you desire :3) As for putting the existing versions on the pages, I saw you removed some of them, so don't bother adding them back in until they have high-quality versions, and don't bother removing those that may still be left. As long as they all high-quality'd and put back on the pages in the end, is all good~ — Wind 01:32, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
*nods* Okay, will do! There's a way to make the quality of old screenshots better? ( :D ) *nods* Okay, I went through and added the improveimage template on them (one had already been done for me, oddly XD), so hopefully they'll get taken care of. ^_^ Sorry again for all the trouble! - MewtwoWarrior 01:39, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
No, an image cannot be magically made better >: going from good to bad certainly is possible, but not the reverse. — Wind 01:49, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't think so. D: I've heard there's some programs that clean up things a little, but when I did look, I couldn't find much information. lol, yeah, it's easy to mess up an image! XD - MewtwoWarrior 01:51, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
