Dates should be inputted in MM-DD-YYYY format with no leading zeros (e.g. {{patch name|month|day|year}}). To edit the date formatting and month names for each language, see {{dictionary/common strings}}.

Usage

{{patch name|05|12|2011}} (where 05 is the month of May, 12 is the day and 2011 the year) produces: May 12, 2011 Patch
{{patch name|05|12|2011}} on Page/pt-br would produce: Atualização de 12 de May de 2011
{{patch name|05|12|2011|no-link=yes}} produces: May 12, 2011 Patch
{{patch name|05|12|2011|link=Test}} produces: May 12, 2011 Patch
{{patch name|05|12|2011|date=true}} produces: May 12, 2011 (link label contains the date only)
{{patch name|05|12|2011|date-only=yes}} produces: May 12, 2011 (no links to patches and label only contains the date. Useful for events not associated with patches)
{{patch name|05|12|2011|sort=yes}} will add an invisible string 2011-05-12 at the start of the result. This can be useful in sortable tables
{{patch name|May|12|2011}} produces: May 12, 2011 Patch (English month names work)
{{patch name|5|12|2011}} produces: May 12, 2011 Patch (Single-digit month numbers work)
{{patch name|05|12|2011|in-the}} produces: May 12, 2011 Patch (No difference in English, but useful in languages for which the wording is different in sentences of the type "In the April 15th Patch, something happened".)

You can also indicate if patch is for Tools or Portal:
