| The character of 'Caroline' came about because we wanted somebody for Cave to play off of. Though we had originally envisioned a put-upon Scientist character called Greg, it would have been wasteful to hire an actor for just one or two lines. Instead, we hit upon the idea of economizing by using GLaDOS-actor Ellen McLain.
