| Dalton Forstall (Ross Chan) is working on the new version of the Portal Gun while his long-time friend Vector Samson (Matthew Cheung) stops by and invites him out for lunch. After they headed to the Aperture Canteen, Dalton takes out his prototype Portal Gun and a can on Conversion Gel to show Vector since he has never heard of it before. Then an alert sounds to alert of a nuclear meltdown. In an instance, some lights went off while the employees quickly evacuate, and some were shot. Instead of evacuating, Dalton asks Caroline to join him and Vector on his quest to save Aperture. Caroline agrees despite the objections from Vector and a following argument with Dalton.
Vector snaps and heads to the Locker Room to fetch his weapons inside a bag he had kept earlier, and took a Rifle and a Bat, while Dalton shoots an arrow in the background. Vector immediately notices his talent with the Huntsman, and allows him to take it. He then later offered Caroline a weapon, but she promptly refuses and decides to go with her laptop.
The group turns to leave, where Vector finds the door locked. Caroline takes out her laptop and hacks the door open. Outside, the three formulates a plan, which ended with Dalton deciding to "take the operations down". A cut reveals the antagonist, Frant Wayhard (Hui Pak Lam), had bugged the facility prior to the meltdown alert.
Vector realizes that they had to deal a facility-wide meltdown, and makes the other two to move along the catwalk. Along the catwalk, they see a seemingly-abandoned dark room, which Dalton suggest to go "check for supplies". The group were greeted by a flashlight that shone at them, and a tormented refuge introduces himself as Jake Maero (Patrick Lam), then he asks for their Zone origin.
Jake tells them that the Canteen was flooded and guides them through the facility, beginning with a Test Chamber, they solves it and takes a shortcut inside the next chamber. The group takes the shortcut and heads to a hallway similar to the one outside the Central AI Chamber, which in both games, houses GLaDOS. The four are surprised when the route was blocked by an obstacle comprised of Turrets and Bombs. Caroline decides to fight in the process and Dalton guides her to the Huntsman by holding her hand to draw the bow. And as a last effort, Jake throws out a can of Repulsion Gel, which coated the Turrets and made them bounce around. The Turrets explodes, causing some panels behind them to fall off, and reveals a broken off pathway with a room directly below the pathway, which looks similar to the one Jake was found in.
The four landed on the pathway to the room, which they entered to find the room full of cooking supplies, Jake offers them to a Black Forest Cake, like the one at the end of Portal. Vector suggests they tell everyone of their life story to stir up some conversation. Vector was revealed to be a highly-trained soldier who started training at the age of 5, Caroline had a degree in technology, and Dalton was revealed to be her one and only friend in Aperture. However, Vector seems to have a dislike on Jake, and banned him from telling his own story. Dalton tells that he grew up in a rich family, and when an elder (Sonic Lam) of his (presumed to be his father) hears of his application to Aperture after he discovered it while playing Portal, he was enraged, ended their relationship as father-and-son, and kicked him out of the house.
Dalton began crying after the recall, which Caroline orders everyone to be silent and let him calm down. A while later, when everyone has finished their slice of cake, Caroline, out of love, respect, and guilt for Dalton, stands up and offers him to dance. Dalton reluctantly accepts, and the two danced to a modified version of Opposites Attract.
Vector teases the pair as "lovebirds", and Dalton snaps to leave in order to save Aperture (and also to get out of the conversation), and they head to a giant chamber, which is modeled after Central AI Chamber in ''Portal'' and ''Portal 2''. Inside was Frant, who reveals to the group that the whole meltdown thing was entirely his idea. He teases the group with a nun chuck, and when Dalton pulls out the bow to confront Frant, he finds the arrows missing.
Frant slowly leaves, and thanked Vector for his efforts. A confused Dalton asked Vector about the situation, which Vector reveals to actually the mastermind behind all this, Jake was a perfectly fine person who Vector asked to act like a refuge, deactivated Dalton's Portal Gun, dropped his arrows down the shafts. Frant was merely a puppet driven by him to "create" a meltdown for him, and now his plan went perfectly, and he announces it's time to kill him. He swings at Dalton, which drops him to the ground, he explains how he has always been bitter that Dalton has always had the successes and he wanted a revenge. After the fight, Dalton wins and he sets off to find the pair.
After he arrives, he recalls that Vector had lied to him to whole time, he sits at the ground and sobs. An alert came up and signals for an actual nuclear meltdown. Dalton snaps and races to find the pair.
Dalton finds Caroline and Jake imprisoned behind a Hard Light Bridge at the end of Test Chamber 19. He saves them by shooting the pre-placed Portal elsewhere and they are freed. Caroline tells him there is an actual nuclear meltdown, and recommends him to forget the past and rescue him so they can solve the crisis together. Dalton agrees, and the three heads off to find him.
They eventually found Vector at the Canteen, calmly sitting at one of the benches. Dalton apologizes to Vector, and offered to be his friend again if he accepts to. He accepts, and the two reconcile. With five minutes left, they ran to the catwalk with an end of a [[Pneumatic Diversity Tube]], which Caroline hacks a Discouragement Redirection Cube out of the Tube, and Jake takes it. They used a Hard Light Bridge within an uncompleted Chamber to reach the Nuclear Intelligence Center. Vector makes Jake abandon the Cube to allow the jammed door to open.
Inside the Center was revealed to be full of computers that connect to a much larger, Master Computer. First, Caroline attempts to type a command that would halt the Nuclear System completely, but fails. Caroline retreats, believing that they will never solve it and the factory will implode. While Vector and Jake take turns trying out the code, Dalton embraces a crazed Caroline, and asks her to recall what she said to him while he was trying to rush his project once earlier. Caroline didn't get the message, and Dalton leaves her still crazed while they work out another plan.
Vector tells them that there must be a Data Wire that sends commands to the Towers, and by cutting it off (literally) could be the easiest way to do it. Dalton takes a Swiss Army knife out of his pocket and heads to the nearby Wire Room. In the Wire Room, Dalton frantically cuts wires while the clock is continuously being ticked down, and in the last ten seconds, Vector asks him to "go f*cking random" and cuts whatever wire he sees. Caroline faints while no one is noticing.
They notice a distinct yellow wire in the last five seconds, and cuts it at the last second. The Announcer's voice distorts and changed to notify Aperture that the Nuclear station has stopped working, and the electricity went out, which Vector asks them to cover in case anything rains down on them. They had nothing befall them for a while, and Vector walks forward to turn on the Backup electricity, which Jake and Vector notices the crumbling tower while Dalton notices the fainted Caroline. They decided to seek medical attention for her.
The story fast-forwards to a point, where Dalton and Vector are awarded the Medal of Commitment for their work against the Crisis, with both the host and the award presenter being Frant. The two takes the standing ovation and cheers from the audience.
The final scene depicts a cheerful Dalton releasing the Award to his desk, and a healthy Caroline re-dressed in a dress and a cap comes forward to his desk and kisses him.

Production & Concept

The film was originally conceptualized, according to both actor and director Ross Chan, during his session with the song Still Alive, that he visualized the credits scene with the cast shown according to the beats of the first verse of the song. This idea was later implemented in the actual credits scene, when they asked the editors to "let me handle this."

The song Opposites Attract by Paula Abdul, used during the dance scene halfway through the movie, was suggested by co-lead Matthew Cheung. This originally came from the original writing, when Matthew supervised Ross Chan in the first draft, this song was played in the background. Further stitching implemented this late-80s classic into the film as an indicator for the relationship between characters Dalton Forstall and Caroline Johnson. Another issue with this song being in the movie, is its retro theme doesn't really fit the theme of relationship in a technologically advanced science facility, so its organ track was volumed-down, and re-recorded in the studio.

The character's names have very special origins. The name of Dalton Forstall, was inspired by both The Exorcism and The Hunger Games for the first name Dalton, Former iOS design vice president of Apple Scott Forstall for the last name. Caroline Johnson is actually a nod suggested by Ross, which he suggests that "Caroline might have married Cave", but decides to remain silent on the matter.
