:I think the first way is better than other two. So video will be more like the game. The second way is rather hard. And voice lines may be replaced incorrectly. What about the third way? Hearing voice is certainly better than reading subtitles. But there's a very small disadvantage using the first or the second way. The voice that sounds in Russain language differs from original one. And some voice effects (changing voice, garbles) aren't shown. | :I think the first way is better than other two. So video will be more like the game. The second way is rather hard. ::The thing with the first way is that it's the longest and hardest one, because it involves re-doing everything that was done for the English part of the wiki. You're free to do it if you want to, but I'd suggest gathering other people to help you along, because it is a very long task (took me months). | |||
::In the meantime, I've been working on a subtitling tool (you can see it [http://theportalwiki.com/subtitle/ here]) which will allow us to make captions for sections of the video, associate them with a sound file, and from that map it to other languages. So what can be done is to use the third way (english with russian subtitles), then as the real Russian walkthrough progresses, replace videos with it. Does that sound like a good plan? — [[User:WindPower|Wind]] 23:58, 29 July 2011 (UTC) |
