The Stalemate Resolution Annex is an area located inside the Central AI Chamber where the Stalemate Resolution Button resides.

Overview

A Stalemate Associate, or in this case, Chell, is needed to press the Stalemate Button if there is any case of either core, either the corrupted core or the substitute core, disapproving of the core transfer protocol. Then, if the button is pressed, the core transfer will begin, regardless the condition of the core.. Humorously, only a "trained stalemate resolution associate" to press the stalemate resolution button.

  • In Portal 2, it seems that the annex is not tamper proof, as demonstrated by Wheatley by placing bombs behind panels
