This chamber consists of two test both of which use the Repulsion and the Propulsion Gel. This is the test when Virgil reveals that he is not actually Cave Johnson.

Walkthrough

Story Mode

Chamber Part 1

  • Press the Pedestal Button to get a Cube.
  • Place the Cube on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button to open the door to the main part of the chamber.
  • Place your first portal on the ceiling directly above the entrance.
  • Enter the main part of the chamber.
  • Place your second portal underneath the Repulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Stand on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button linked to the Repulsion Gel tube to dispense Repulsion Gel through the portal.
  • Move your second portal to any portal surface in the main part of the chamber, aside from those underneath grates and on the structure across the gap.
  • Return to the entrance area.
  • Move your first portal to the wall with the small ledge just above the entrance.
  • Pick up the Cube.
  • Jump up to your portal with the Repulsion Gel.
  • Take the Cube through the portal to the main part of the chamber.
  • Move your first portal underneath the Propulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Press the Pedestal Button to dispense Propulsion Gel.
  • Move your second portal across to ceiling portal surfaces to create a runway of Propulsion Gel.
  • Move your second portal to the end of the ceiling portal surfaces by the open side of the room.
  • Move your first portal underneath the Repulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Stand on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button linked to the Repulsion Gel tube to dispense Repulsion Gel through the portal.
  • Stand near the open end of the room on the right side, where you can see the ceiling and wall portal surfaces on the upper level of the structure across the gap.
  • Move one portal to the wall portal surface on the upper level of the structure.
  • Move the other portal to the wall portal surface on the lower level of the structure.
  • Pick up the Cube.
  • Use the Gel runway to fling yourself through the portal to the exit.
  • Place the Cube on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button to open the exit door.

Chamber Part 2

Advanced Mode

Chamber Part 1

  • Press the Pedestal Button to get a Cube.
  • Place the Cube on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button to open the door to the main part of the chamber.
  • Place your first portal on the ceiling directly above the entrance.
  • Enter the main part of the chamber.
  • Place your second portal underneath the Repulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Stand on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button linked to the Repulsion Gel tube to dispense Repulsion Gel through the portal.
  • Move your second portal to any portal surface in the main part of the chamber, aside from those underneath grates and on the structure across the gap.
  • Return to the entrance area.
  • Move your first portal to the wall with the small ledge just above the entrance.
  • Pick up the Cube.
  • Jump up to your portal with the Repulsion Gel.
  • Take the Cube through the portal to the main part of the chamber.
  • Move your first portal underneath the Propulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Press the Pedestal Button to dispense Propulsion Gel.
  • Move your second portal across to ceiling portal surfaces to create a runway of Propulsion Gel.
  • Move your second portal to the end of the ceiling portal surfaces by the open side of the room.
  • Move your first portal underneath the Repulsion Gel tube (underneath the grate).
  • Place the Cube on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button linked to the Repulsion Gel tube to dispense Repulsion Gel through the portal.
  • Use the Gel runway to fling yourself to the structure across the gap.
  • Move your second portal to the ceiling portal surface on the right side of the upper level of the structure (you can see it from the back of the structure).
  • Wait a few seconds for Repulsion Gel to dispense on the upper level of the structure.
  • Move your first portal to the wall portal surface on the left side of the lower level of the structure.
  • Go through the portal to get to the upper level of the structure.
  • Move your second portal to the wall portal surface on the upper level of the structure.
  • Stand at the left side of the structure, where you can see the main part of the chamber.
  • Move your first portal to any portal surface in the main part of the chamber, aside from those underneath grates.
  • Jump up to your portal with the Repulsion Gel.
  • Move your first portal to the wall portal surface on the lower level of the structure.
  • Pick up the Cube.
  • Use the Gel runway to fling yourself through the portal to the exit.
  • Place the Cube on the Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button to open the exit door.

  • The music played during this chamber is known as Adjacency. A version of Adjacency is also played on the menu screen when exiting a map in Chapter 3.
  • The second part of this chamber is shown when entering a Chapter 2 map, zooming out over four shots, similar to Portal 2
