Geoff Keighley is the author of Portal 2 - The Final Hours the digital book. The majority of his Final Hours series were written in college as a homage to the VH1 series Behind the Music. His previous Final Hours books include, Black & White, Metal Gear Solid 2, Unreal, Quake III Arena and Prince of Persia, and Half-Life 2; the majority of which are archived on GameSpot.

Keighley had already been documenting the internal workings of video game studios for some time when he was inspired to return to the series after seeing The Social Network. When he approached Valve with the idea they were generous enough to give him access to their office, private meetings, personal stories, photos, and time. These sources along with being allowed to play the finished game pre-release enabled him to write Portal 2 - Final Hours.[1]
