Obtaining Portal achievements

Lab Rat Acquire the fully powered Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device. Difficulty: Story-related How to obtain: This achievement is story related, and is earned once you equip the Dual Handheld Portal Device in Test Chamber 11.

Fratricide Do whatever it takes to survive. Difficulty: Story-related How to obtain: This achievement is story related, and is earned once you burn the Weighted Companion Cube in Test Chamber 17.

Partygoer Make the correct party escort submission position decision. Difficulty: Story-related How to obtain: This achievement is story related, and is earned once you escape from the burning pit and carry onto the escape levels after The Final Test.

Heartbreaker Complete Portal. Difficulty: Story-related How to obtain: This achievement is story related, and is earned once you defeat GLaDOS and beat the game.

Friendly Fire Knock down a turret with another turret. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: To earn this achievement, you must pick up a Turret and knock over another one.

Terminal Velocity Fall 30,000 feet. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Once you have acquired the dual portal gun in Test Chamber 11, you must be in a test chamber where you can place Portals on both the ceiling and the floor. Place a portal above and below you, then jump in and wait for around 5 minutes.

Long Jump Jump 300 feet. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Once you are in a long test chamber where you can place portals on the walls and the floor, place a portal on a wall, and place another below it on the floor, jump into the floor portal and keep placing portals on the floor while landing in them until you get the achievement.

Camera Shy Detach security cameras from the walls. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: After you get the portal gun, you must detach every security camera from their walls (excluding the ones you see before the test chamber where it is acquired and the ones on the non portal-placement walls) by creating a portal behind the camera, letting it fall to the ground.

Transmission Received ..? Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: This achievement was added on March 1, 2010, leading to the announcement of Portal 2. There are hidden radios in the Test Chambers, you are required to pick these up and put them into the right position. You cannot get this achievement on your first play through.

Cupcake Beat two Portal advanced maps. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: To earn this achievement, you have to beat two of the Advanced Chambers, they are found in the main menu. It is best to go through these in order.

Fruitcake Beat four Portal advanced maps. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: To earn this achievement, you have to beat four of the Advanced Chambers.

Vanilla Crazy Cake Beat all six Portal advanced maps. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: To earn this achievement, you have to beat all six of the Advanced Chambers.

Basic Science Earn bronze medals on all Portal challenges. Difficulty: Hard How to obtain: Here, you must finish all the challenges with at least a bronze rating.

Rocket Science Earn silver medals on all Portal challenges. Difficulty: Hard How to obtain: Here, you must finish all the challenges with at least a silver rating.

Aperture Science Earn gold medals on all Portal challenges. Difficulty: Very Hard How to obtain: Here, you must finish all the challenges with at least a gold rating.
