Mel isn't canon
If you can find a reliable source citing that Mel is canon, then please add it in addition to your edit. Mel has never been part of official Portal 2 canon. Were you thinking about the free, non-canonical community-made mod Portal Stories: Mel? Yes, I was, and I was reffering to when AEGIS wakes up Test Subject 001 (Chell) and why Chell was not fighting AEGIS during Portal 2.
