A few things you need to set up BEFORE you do the config files, set your windows system to view extensions of know file types

== Set-up ==
1. Locate your portal 2 config folder (usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\portal 2\portal2\cfg)

2. Create a new .txt file name doesn't matter at the moment as long as it stays .txt format

3. paste this text into the new file

4. save then rename the file to joy_coop.360.cfg

== In Game==

1. (optional) If you want to be able to save progress go to play co-op>standard co-op and wait for frends list to load

2. Plug in your controller

3. Load the map by typing
<pre>ss_map mp_coop_start</pre>
into the console

4. <span style="color:#FF0000">IMPORTANT </span> while loading you will need to unplug and plug in the controller until it registers as second player

5.Execute the config that you made like so

Hi on steam I am [Thisld]Agro's Dog|kk the Thisld bit is because I am an admin on thisl.com TF2 servers (you should check them out) I have recently completed portal 2 single player (hardest part for me was the last bit with wheatly getting the bombs in the right place) I am now working with postman pat from kritzkast on co-op I still have some achievements to get on the single player mode, if you want to get in touch with me your welcome to add me on steam i may also pop into the irc (iaindude)

Some of you are thinking "duh I know how to download and install maps" well not everyone knows how to

1. Find the map you want sites that do Portal 2 maps will be linked below

4. Locate the .bsp file

5. Extract to C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps <ref>or where ever steam is installed for you</ref>

That's the map downloaded and installed for you but unlike Team Fortress 2 the map isn't downloaded to the client if it isn't in the maps folder so your friend needs to do the same thing (make sure its the same version map he is downloading)

Now you both have the map you need to be able to connect and if your thinking "Oh this is easy I just type map map_name in the console then send invite" you are wrong I tried that and it just disconnects you
