Gameplay-wise, Atlas is played by the host of the Co-op session; the player that sends an invitation.

Biography
Atlas is a blue eyed Core with a basic design as a typical rounded Core, and is portrayed to have somewhat more masculinity in its programming than in P-body. Along with P-body, the two bots are pitted against a series of tests built by GLaDOS herself, utilizing the many different mechanics previously encountered by Chell from the game's single-player campaign.

Trivia
* In the pre-release video "Bot Trust", the prototype Atlas in the "Unilateral Force-Induced Isokinetic Breakfast Trials" wields a frying pan similar to the ones found in Left 4 Dead 2, the frying pan is also featured in Team Fortress 2 as an all-class melee weapon, and in other Valve games (but as unusable physics props).
* In Portal 2 and its promotional videos, Atlas' name can be seen written both as "Atlas" and "ATLAS", showing inconsistencies from Valve as far as the bot's name is concerned.
* In the early days of Portal 2, the player used to play as a different character, named Mel. She was later replaced by Atlas, with Chell being replaced by P-Body.
* Atlas made 2 cameos, along with P-body in LEGO Dimensions.
*Atlas is a Steam Exclusive character in the Good Friends DLC of the game Runner2
The Fact Sphere speaks like a stereotypical "know-it-all", spending most of its time rapidly rattling off various facts.
The Fact Sphere, along with all the corrupted cores, is voiced by Nolan North.
Trivia
*
* {{spoiler|In the unused audio files, the Fact Sphere can be heard yelling at both the Space Sphere and Rick. *Grab the first corrupted core, Space Core, and look for a blinking red light in Wheatley's body.
*Use the Repulsion Gel to get near the light and point the core at it. The core attaches itself to the body.
*Place a portal under Wheatley and the other on the floor. Get one of the bombs to go through the portal.
*Shoot the portal from under Wheatley to the panel hanging above the catwalk.
*Wait for the second corrupted core, Adventure Core, to be in the right position and then jump on the Repulsion Gel to grab it.
*Look for another blinking red light and attach the core there by jumping from the Repulsion Gel to it.
*Fire a portal on the panel higher above the countdown monitor. Then go stand to the other side of the area, to get Wheatley to turn his back on it.
*Wait for the bombs to start dropping and put the other portal as soon as you can on the landing area.
*Wait until a Propulsion Gel pipe bursts and fire a portal at the end of the runway.
*Place the other portal on the floor right next to the end of the runway.
*Go to the start of the catwalk and run through the portal and get the third corrupted core, Fact Core.
*Look for the final blinking light and use the Repulsion Gel to attach the core.
*Wait for the Stalemate Resolution Annex to open and place a portal on the ceiling of the Annex.
The Turret Opera is an event in the single-player campaign of Portal 2 in which a group of Sentry Turrets form a unique melody via the movement sounds of their weaponry casings.

{{spoiler|The opera sequence begins after GLaDOS sends Chell on a lift towards the surface. The lift stops in front of some Turrets aimed at Chell, making it seem like GLaDOS's promise of freedom was a lie. Instead, the Turrets begin serenading her. As the lift ascends even further, Chell witnesses an even larger group of Turrets awaiting her arrival as the Prima Donna Turret sings the lead vocals and the Animal King Turret provides the bass notes. == Production ==
The song itself was produced by Valve composer Mike Morasky and vocalized by the voice of GLaDOS and the turrets, Ellen McLain, though the librettist is unknown. It was added to the Portal 2: Songs to Test By and the Portal 2: Songs to Test By (Collector's Edition) albums, the latter of which is available on Spotify and is accredited to Aperture Science Psychoacoustic Laboratories. The albums both act as the official soundtrack for Portal 2, with the Collector's Edition adding in songs from the series' first installation and even an audible mini-comic, among others.
It was revealed by McLain that she "made up the words out of [her] bad Italian [...] on the spot."

Trivia
* The lyrics can otherwise be read here in both its original and translated form on the popular lyric-recording and speculation site, Genius.
*
* The word "Ciel" in the lyrics is speculated to be a play on words; it is pronounced almost the same as Chell. Despite the song being an Italian aria, "Ciel" itself can be translated from French to mean 'sky,' but in some specific and appropriate cases, 'heaven.'
*
* Before becoming a voice actress, Ellen McLain was an opera singer.
* In Portal 2, Weighted Companion Cubes can be heard humming it when nearby.
