Portal 2 is the sequel to the award winning and hugely successful Portal developed by Valve Corporation. It features a single-player story set after the events of Portals story; and a brand-new Co-op game mode, featuring additional test chambers designed specifically for Co-operative play. Portal 2 was released April 19, 2011 on the Steam platform. North America got retail release on the April 19, 2011; Europe and Australia, April 21, 2011.

Plot
Story

During Gabe Newell's keynote at the Games For Change festival, Gabe mentioned that Valve were beginning working with schools to build curricula around Portal 2; looking into, as Stephen Totilo of Kotaku summarised, "how to teach attraction, repulsion... they need to be clear on what their metrics are... what the outcome is, what they're optimizing for".
<s>Summer</s> Upcoming DLC (Unreleased)
Portal 2 was set to receive a free DLC in Summer 2011 but unfortunately it felt as victim Valve Time. === Portal 2 in Schools ===

Trivia
*Shooting a portal to the moon as the ending was originally an easter egg "3 minutes into the game", which caused the player to be sucked out of the test chamber and die - and was an alternate game ending.
Thoughts
As I played through Portal and Portal 2, I developed a theory. Cave Johnson said that if he didn't survive until the "brain uploader" project was finished, that he wanted Caroline to use it and if she didn't agree then to have her put into it by force. If she actually is the true personna of GlaDOS, then maybe that's why GlaDOS wanted to kill everyone once she was turned on, maybe out of revenge as they put her into the computer when she didn't want to. Just a theory, could we put this into the article? Sonic Nova 21:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

: Dev's once said that they added a twist about Caroline is GlaDOS at later stages of Portal 2 development. Also, GlaDOS don't remeber anything from her origins in first place and after realising who she was she become actually more friendly to Chell. I think her agresiveness is just a popular belief that rougue AI want to just kill humans as possible threat: HAL-900 from Space Oddisey, Mass Effect series, Terminator series, X-files episode and etc. --Comrade Suhov 11:03, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Radios are miscellaneous items that appear in the Portal series, and appear as simple analogue AM/FM radios. Radios are introduced at the very beginning of Portal, and also make a brief appearance in Portal 2. When Radios are encountered, they are usually switched on and play an up-tempo version of the tune from the end of Portal ("Still Alive").

The Radios in Portal did not originally serve any obvious purpose, and appeared to be present merely in order to provide ambiance. The March 1, 2010 patch however, added 26 additional Radios to the game, most of which were hidden in Test Chambers, and also added a new achievement, "Transmission Received". This patch, its accompanying achievement and patch notes were later revealed to be part of the Portal ARG. Among other things, the patch altered the Radios so that they would emit a Morse Code-like signal when placed in certain locations within a test chamber, and locating all 26 of these areas was required in order to unlock the achievement.

Radios do not play a large role in Portal 2, and appear only once in Chapter 2.

Trivia
*In Chapter 2: The Cold Boot, Test Chamber 6, a Radio can be found among the "garbage" that is ejected from the Vital Apparatus Vent, and is necessary to complete the "Final Transmission" achievement.
A player who makes contact with a crusher will be forced to the nearest hard surface and will be killed instantly. Crushers appear as large grey panels with many large, steel spikes firmly attached.

Crushers become more frequent during the final parts of the game (particularly in Chapter 9: "The Part Where He Kills You"), and also appear frequently in co-op mode.

Function
Any object, including the player, will be perforated instantly upon contact with a crusher. When crushing, a loud crunching noise is made to warn the player of its danger, and to indicate to move out of the way quickly.

In co-op mode, if the player comes in contact with a crusher while floating in an Excursion Funnel, the damage caused will be periodic until the player moves away or dies.
Gels are a gameplay implement introduced in Portal 2. They are paint-like liquids that impart different effects on surfaces and objects.

Gels
Repulsion Gel
Repulsion Gel is a light blue substance that repels objects. A player or an object that hits a surface coated with it bounces off. Jumping off such a surface launches the player higher than a normal jump. Objects such as Storage Cubes and Turrets can be covered in Repulsion Gel, which causes them to bounce around erratically.

Propulsion Gel
A bright orange gel that greatly increases object velocity and reduces friction of objects moving on surfaces it is applied to. Objects covered in Propulsion Gel similarly have their friction reduced, causing them to slide around.

Conversion Gel
Conversion Gel is a portal-conducting white liquid made from ground moon rocks. It enables the player to place portals on surfaces that originally are not portal conductive.

Water
Water washes off other gels from surfaces and objects. It has no special properties towards gameplay and does not stick to surfaces.
