Did you just toss the Aperture Science Thing We Don't Know What It Does into the Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incinerator?
GLaDOS
The Emergency Intelligence Incinerator in Portal.

The Emergency Intelligence Incinerator is a chute that leads directly to the furnaces deep within the facility and plays a key role during Portal. It only makes two appearances during the game. Once during Test Chamber 17, involving the Weighted Companion Cube, and the other during the battle with GLaDOS which is used to destroy her personality cores.

Function

It's function is simply to burn things that go down the chute. In Portal, the player is forced to incinerate their Companion Cube in order to progress to the next test. During the final stages of the game, the player must take Personality Cores dislodged from GLaDOS via rocket and send them into the incinerator to defeat GLaDOS.

Trivia

  • During Portal 2, a ruined Emergency Intelligence Incinerator can be spotted inside GLaDOS' old chamber, where she re-awakens.
