Place one portal at the receiving end of the Hard Light Bridge, then place the other portal on a nearby wall. Enter the portal on the wall and walk over to the bridge emitter. Move on the emitter so that you can see the white surface of the overhead panels, then fire a portal so that the Hard Light Bridge runs under the Vital Apparatus Vent. Press the button in the center of the wall by the Light Bridge and have your partner catch the ball that drops out of the vent.
